Nature VS Nurture

When heaven is unkind,

It treats human like straw dogs

Dogs made of straw are often used as burning idols, guardians for the underworld passage of the deceases. The first two lines from the Yin Taoist Sutra bemoan the inhuman cruelty of nature. When Armageddon meteorite struck earth, the dinosaurs became extinct which opened up the niche for the mammals. Those furtive little creatures became our ancestors.

So nature does not take sides or play favorite.Unfortunately, nature treats humans just like everything that exists in the universe. This is the cold fact of nature.Out of this cold headed realization, the early Taoist reached out to nature and plucked from it the principles, and secrets of transformation.

Are we facing our own extinction?Have human being create the momentum at this point in life that takes the cold hard facts of genetic code into our hands and manipulates our own evolution or extinction?

Those are the age old question of the Alchemist. The magus of life and death walks the twilight zone of self evolution. It is said that once a Taoist has completed her/his transformation from being mortal to immortal; such a being evolved into a whole new species, race, the Real Being. The Real Person of immortal no longer is trap in the quirk mire of life and death.Though, he could be murdered but his life force has become circular without beginning or endings.

My master once told me that this is the most difficult choice an adapt has to take:Whether to stay as part of the human species or to mutate to a new self generated being, all alone. No wonder in the myths, most vampires choose to sleep in the quiet of graves. Thus, the cutting of the link to all humanity is the ultimate rite of passage for immortality.

Imagine if you ever meet with an immortal Taoist. This person will float like the clouds. But if you tried to beg her for teaching, most likely, she would not remain in this dusty world to work out your neurosis, or support you in your growth. She will point with a slight tremor to the distant mountain.

“Come to those snowy peak, when you are ready.” Her echoes ring in your ears as she vanished.
